We are planning to re-submit our funding bid to the new National Lottery Awards for All England scheme with a working title of ‘Library of Things – Stuff to Borrow’.
We have now held a number of in-person consultations at the EarthLincs Saturday Drop-Ins and have distributed a questionnaire both via email and on paper in public spaces such as the Central Library, Christmas market, Lincoln High Street and the Mint Lane Hub. We have received 74 responses which have helped to guide our new bid.
80% of the respondents thought that there is a need for such a library in Lincoln with 76% saying they would use the facility. The survey suggests that those who would benefit the most would be low income households and young people. If successful, the bid would enable a 2-year project (which would then continue on a self-sustaining basis) starting in the summer of 2024.
Fingers crossed we will be ‘winners’ this time around!
